Scottish Prairie
I had such an incredible adventure today with my dearest Bretton and Maria. The quality of light in these pictures is positively surreal. I barely had to edit them to achieve this pseudo Victorian/early American mood. I found this 1970s vintage sun dress at my favourite vintage emporium and I can't express my obsession with it. I used a plain, cheap white dress from H&M as a slip (a way better option, if you ask me) so that it wasn't quite so riskily sheer. I haven't done my hair like this in a while but I think it's a trend I'm gonna need to get into again.
Boy, if this beautiful countryside (located right in the center of Edinburgh) doesn't convince one to visit this city...I just don't know what will. I salute you, Bonnie Scotland.

A World in a Moleskin

Here is a little project I'm working on in the hopes that it might more deeply immerse me in this strange little world I'm attempting to create. The "book" (if it can yet be so ambitiously labeled) I'm writing is a fantasy where the hero is, you guessed it, a gardener named Tiernan. I had so much fun coming up with all the plant names and attributes that I felt I had to sketch them out. This journal, which has actually makes a brief appearance in the text, proves to be my greatest link to my protagonist and his world. It makes everything real for me, and provides a wonderful source of relaxation. Just wanted to share what I spent the greater part of my day constructing. Hope you enjoy it!
I'd love to see any journal projects you guys have been working on. Send them my way!

Dearly Departed
I had an absolute blast playing around in Greyfriar's Cemetery today, where I experimented with some new poses, burst mode, and varying levels of light. Isn't this place positively haunted? Well, it's supposed to be one of the most haunted sites in the world. Apparently each year a skeleton surfaces after a particularly heavy rainfall, since back in the day they packed a few too many dearly departed beneath this grassy mound (which was once a valley). A section of it's even closed off because too many tourists were getting 'strange injuries' while inside it. Even if one doesn't believe in that sort of thing, it certainly adds some flavor to the city.
Anyways, the outfit: I love pairing a really complicated piece with something simple and neutral. This vintage beaded white 'vest' (? I'm not sure what else to call it ?) craves to be the focal point of the ensemble, so I stuck it with a black tank and mini. Let the vintage have the limelight.
